Tens of thousands of people have chosen Health Net Medicare plans. Why? Because we've based our business on the specific needs of the individuals we serve.
Health Net is one of the country's leading health care companies.
We have a variety of easy-to-use plans to meet as many situations as possible. Our vast network of contracted physicians, hospitals, pharmacies, and medical professionals has been built with precision and care.
When it comes to benefits and prescription drugs, we're constantly re-evaluating our customer's needs. We know which conditions are most likely to affect you, and the medications you're most likely to need. That's why we've taken such care to ensure that our new prescription drug plan for Medicare offers coverage for so many commonly prescribed, brand name drugs.
Another great reason to choose Health Net is because we have made it simpler to understand both your benefits and your costs. For many common services, we have a feature that eliminates deductible and coinsurance requirements. With Health Net, you're covered from your very first claim.
Health Net also offers you Decision Powersm. This program gives Health Net members 24 hours a day 7 days a week access to Health Coaches, professionals who are trained to listen to your concerns, answer questions, assess your health status and even help you set health goals.
Who is eligible for Medicare?
Generally, you are eligible for Medicare if you or your spouse worked for at least 10 years in Medicare-covered employment and you are 65 years old and a citizen or permanent resident of the United States. You might also qualify for coverage if you are a younger person with a disability or with End-Stage Renal disease (permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or transplant).
What are the different parts of Medicare?
There are 4 parts of Medicare:
Part A: Hospital Insurance
Every American who qualifies for Medicare or is over 65 years old is eligible for Part A. Part A Medicare provides coverage for inpatient hospital, skilled nursing facility care and more. Once you are enrolled, your benefits are automatic - usually for no monthly plan premium. However, many of these benefits carry a deductible and coinsurance that are set annually by the government.
Part B: Medical Insurance
Part B is optional and primarily covers provider services, outpatient hospital care and more, for a low monthly premium that changes from year to year. However, these programs nearly always carry a deductible and coinsurance. Most people will pay the standard monthly Part B premium. However, starting January 1, 2007, some people will have to pay a higher premium because of their yearly income (over $80,000 for singles, $160,000 for married couples). For more information on Part B premiums based on income, call Social Security at 1-800-772-1213. TTY users should call 1-800-325-0778.
Part C: Medicare Advantage Plans
Part C, usually referred to as Medicare Advantage Plans, are supplied by private insurance companies like Health Net. The advantage is that your medical coverage - although regulated by Medicare - is provided by and administered through an insurance carrier, not the government. These plans are designed to provide additional benefits not covered by Medicare Parts A and B. By Medicare law, you are eligible to enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan if you are entitled to Part A and enrolled in Part B, as well as certain other requirements.
Part D: Prescription Drug Plans
Part D is the milestone offering by Medicare, a prescription drug plan to help you pay for medicine. Although Part D has been ordered by the government, it's only available through private insurance companies like Health Net. This program replaces the interim Drug Discount Card program, which expired on May 15, 2006. Although Part D went into effect on January 1, 2006, after May 15, 2006, the only way to reduce your prescription drug costs through Medicare is to enroll in a prescription drug plan offered by a private insurance company.
How can I compare Health Net's plans with plans offered by other companies?
